Find, explore and walk

world map

Discover the UK's connections to different countries around the world and find out how these nations and their people have shaped our surroundings, often in surprising ways.

Join us in the challenge to find connections, explore your local area and create walks which take you around the world without leaving the UK.

Walk the World was originally created as part of Discovering Places, the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad campaign to inspire the UK to discover their local environment by finding links to all 206 Olympic and Paralympic Participating Nations. The project is continuing into 2013.
